DESCRIPTION:This month\, we shift our focus to what happens on set before you get the footage into your edit bay and then what you can do to archive and wrap up projects when they’re done. \nMike Towe will lead us on a discussion about some of his best practices while filming\, diving into the nuts and bolts of interview prep and getting the best video and audio so you don’t have to fix it in post. \nRobin Martin will demo some tools for archiving your projects and managing your media so that you can put an edit to bed and still give yourself options to make updates in the future. \nWe’ll be in room 201 – see you there!

DESCRIPTION:We spend a lot of time in user group meetings looking at how to make the cut. What buttons to push\, how to create a transition\, how to do a clean key\, etc. But this month were going to look at why to make the cut. \nEmmy Award winning editor Michael Towe will talk about the process he uses to draw the most emotion out of an edit. He’ll discuss shot selection and ordering and the use of change to create impact in your edit. The techniques he’ll discuss can be applied to any edit you’re working on\, from corprate\, to narative to a 30 second spot. \nSo this month let’s take a step back from the technical\, and look at the art of editing.
