Why to make the cut

January 9, 2017 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

We spend a lot of time in user group meetings looking at how to make the cut. What buttons to push, how to create a transition, how to do a clean key, etc. But this month were going to look at why to make the cut.

Emmy Award winning editor Michael Towe will talk about the process he uses to draw the most emotion out of an edit. He’ll discuss shot selection and ordering and the use of change to create impact in your edit. The techniques he’ll discuss can be applied to any edit you’re working on, from corprate, to narative to a 30 second spot.

So this month let’s take a step back from the technical, and look at the art of editing.
